Doug received a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the University of Kentucky and joined Congleton-Hacker Company in 1993, the fourth consecutive generation of his family to manage commercial construction work. In 2001, Doug was named Vice President/Construction Manager.
 

Doug has served in numerous leadership positions with the Associated General Contractors of Kentucky including two terms as their Board Chair. He is a trustee for Kentucky Laborers’ District Council Health and Welfare Fund. In addition, he is a past recipient of the Young Construction Engineer of Kentucky Award presented by the Construction Management Founder’s Society and the University Of Kentucky College of Engineering for his accomplishments in the construction industry.

Doug specializes in pre-construction leadership and has overseen work on more than $300 million in high-profile, complex projects in high-traffic areas, such as the Baptist Hospital Lexington’s BedTower and Master Campus Building, the UK Football Training Facility, UK’s Davis Marksbury Digital Village Building, and several projects at St. Joseph/KentuckyOne.

He is certified as a health-care contractor through the Kentucky Society of Health-Care Engineers and has completed various related trainings and certifications, such as OSHA 30, First Aid and CPR.

Doug has been active on many community boards and organizations, including the Central Baptist Hospital Foundation, First Link of the Bluegrass, Lexington Christian Academy and Todd’s Road Church. He has committed many hours to youth serving as baseball and basketball coach for Little League and I Am Third, respectively.

                                               

2019 President's Priorities


 
  • Conduct strategic planning process so as to ensure the AGC is positioned to meet membership needs and industry challenges.
     
  • Provide AGC leadership with education on the role associations play in the 21st century, why they were created and optimal governance strategies.
     
  • Assess and update governance documents and policies to create a high performing organization.  
     
  • Complete program of new AGC Headquarters to create image, space and character commensurate with our association’s long-term mission, vision and goals.
