2026 AGC of Kentucky President
John Phillips is the President and CEO of AE Company, a 100% employee-owned holding company based in Frankfort, Kentucky, with a 2nd location in Richmond, Kentucky. AE Company oversees several subsidiaries in the construction industry, including an electrical contracting company, an engineering and automation firm, and an excavating business.
For over 50 years, AE has delivered comprehensive electrical and construction services to industrial, commercial, and residential clients throughout the Central United States. Under John's leadership, AE continues to grow through strategic innovation, development of employee-owners technical and leadership skills, and a strong employee ownership culture.
John joined AE following a 24-year career with Square D Company / Schneider Electric, where he held a variety of leadership roles. He is known for developing and executing successful growth strategies and for his deep commitment to mentoring others and helping them achieve their full career potential.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kentucky and an MBA from Middle Tennessee State University.
2026 President's Priorities
- Align, launch, and execute AGC of Kentucky’s 2026–2029 Strategic Plan.
- Champion efforts to secure sustained public and private investment in the Be Pro Be Proud initiative to expand Kentucky’s construction workforce pipeline.
- Leverage the expertise of AGC’s Safety Committee and staff to expand our safety partnership program and advance industry-leading safety performance statewide.
- Strengthen AGC of Kentucky’s legacy as the unified voice and leading advocate for the commercial construction industry across the Commonwealth.
